Who we are

Australian Brock Lewin is the Badger in Badger & Dodo. He first pulled a shot of coffee in 1993 whilst at Uni in Sydney – when big bubbly cappuccinos were cool. Since then he has studied coffee at university, managed cafes, learned to roast from an Italian Master Roaster, travelled to coffee estates and processing facilities, served on competition judging panels, been to zillions of trade shows. In 2008 he relocated to Cork city with his wife from Fermoy, and at the end of 2008 rebuilt their artisan roastery in Fermoy, Co Cork …. and who or what with the Dodo ???? That’s the father-in-laws’ childhood nic’ name ;)

Apart from coffee we are passionate about …. coffee roasting, and ….

…. FRESH roasting ALL coffees for every single order we receive. We don’t stockpile or pre roast ! Fresh is best.

…. Exploring new and exciting current crop single origin and estate coffees, and bringing these to our customers via the web and at our markets around Ireland.

…. Excellence in Barista Skills.
We simply won’t supply coffee to a new establishment without our own Barista training. Brock has been Sensory Judge for the Speciality Coffee Association’s Irish chapter Barista, Latte Art and Cupping in good spirits Championships since 2009. We strongly support excellence in barista standards.




What we do

We are specialist coffee roasters without a retail shop front of our own.

Instead we focus on delivering quality coffee to our clients via:

  • over 50 select cafes around the country: From Ballymaloe cafe in Cork, to The Humble Bean (Previously Milk & Honey) on Aungier st, and Trinity College Science Gallery Dublin, to Ard Bia Restaurant in Galway.

Do we ‘do’ espresso machines ?
So long as you have a traditional espresso machine we will supply you and naturally we want you to have a brilliant machine to help make brilliant coffee. We have no trade affiliations with any particular coffee machine manufacture and we’ll work with you regardless of the make and model. If you are looking for advice on machines we can certainly help you with that and give you a recommendation on a mcahine make and model that suits your venue.
